The University of Oregon announced Thursday it will not change its current trademark licensing agreement. 

The UO issued a statement in the afternoon saying the decision had been made "following a review of responses to its request for proposals regarding its apparel and headwear licensing program." However, the wording of the release made clear that changes in the future are possible -- but not for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014. 

The university issued the request for proposals June 21 for possible changes to the licensing program specifically for headwear and apparel. The request did not extend to other vendor agreements for novelty products such as decals, car flags, sunglasses and other non-apparel merchandise bearing university trademarks. 

Also, it did not apply to Nike. The Oregon-based sports equipment company has a separate apparel deal with the UO athletic department. However, school officials had said Nike was welcome to apply to for the apparel and headwear deal.
