Glebe Lake has fished well last week, especially to small natural imitations using a floating line with a fast retrieve.
West Stow lake has done best with small drab dry flies pulled quickly across the surface, particularly in front of the car park where large numbers of fish have been congregating in the narrows.
A group of anglers from Hemel Hempstead Fishing Club had an excellent day with a rod avearge of 6.5, with organiser David Rayner taking best catch with 12 rainbows to 5lbs 5ozs. He then promptly presented himself with the club trophy.
n There was good sport last week again at Blackdyke, with daddies still the main fly.
It is nice to see the fish rising for them in the clear water. Lots of fish are close to the bank so fishing along the margins is proving a good strategy.
