The United States Patent and Trademark Office denied the trademark application of Apple for their highly-popular iPad mini tablet, citing that the Cupertino-based company submitted a weak argument.

The USPTO stated in the letter: “Both the individual components and the composite result are descriptive of applicant’s goods and do not create a unique, incongruous or non-descriptive meaning in relation to the goods being small handheld mobile devices comprising tablet computers capable of providing Internet access.”

Apple, who released the iPad mini in November, has yet to release their official statement.
