With a new EP, “Water,” out in January to complement last year’s “In Time to Voices,” the British duo Blood Red Shoes is happy to be building its repertoire

“The records I really like aren’t perfect; they have more of a feel, more vibe to them,” she explains. “I like the idea of changing it up. It would be really boring to just re-create the same sound every time. We’re trying to figure out how to incorporate all the stuff we like into our songs without making them sound the same every time — or maybe we’re just contrary and like to do the opposite of what we did before.”
Carter adds that Blood Red Shoes has already started writing and recording its fourth album and plans to devote full time to it this summer.
