Queens is getting an additional 57 NYPD security cameras within the next year, Borough President Helen Marshall said Wednesday.

Marshall funded the cameras using $2 million in her 2013 Capital Budget. The NYPD selected the surveillance locations based on an analysis of criminal activity and other metrics. 

“It’s where the crime is,” said Marshall, citing planned camera locations in Corona and Jamaica.
